Something good came out of the COVID pandemic

I’ve been a nurse and health quality executive for over 40 years. The COVID pandemic was one of the hardest periods in my professional life and I needed some way to get my mind off of the non-stop cortisol infusion I felt every day.

A good friend from high school invited me to her house for a “crafting” weekend where we watched YouTube videos of fluid artists making amazing creations. We gave it a try and I was hooked!

I am fortunate to have an outbuilding that I converted into a studio, and my fledgling art career began! I use acrylic paint combined with an additive to thin the paint out so it flows across the canvas. I use all kinds of different techniques to move the paint - I hope it moves you, too!

I also use alcohol ink to create abstract paintings. Alcohol ink is very concentrated and when combined with isopropyl alcohol it can be moved across the page using air or tilting. It always amazes me when a blob if ink turns into a beautiful flower!

I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoyed making it!
